This is a self-contained lodge in Blickinstal Retreat, which can host 4 guests., The lodge features a queen bed with starred-hotel linens, an indoor fireplace, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
Bedroom - one Queen bed
Downstairs living room - one double-size Sofa bed, coffee table and smart TV.
Air conditioning also comes with heating functions.
In the common area, there are BBQ facilities (reservation required) and outdoor dining seating with a fantastic panoramic view. The outdoor fire pit is available outside of the fire danger season (1st May – 30th Nov). You can also find a shared laundry room on the premises.
Living with Nature
Our home is located in the beautiful South Australian countryside, where we share the land with local wildlife. While we have professional pest control services regularly, it is impossible to keep every insect out 100% of the time, especially during or after heavy rain when they seek shelter indoors.
If you have a significant phobia of insects or expect a completely bug-free environment, a rural stay might not be the best fit for you. We appreciate your understanding of the authentic country lifestyle!
I had a slight hitch with checking in, however the hosts fixed the situation as quickly as they could. I then had a very pleasant stay, the room was very clean and the spa was great. They don't provide any firewood but you can buy some from Foodland at a reasonable price (sourced from a local supplier).
Lovely stay. Very handy for cbd. Super comfy bed and some fresh produce in the garden. Lemongrass tea highly recommended.
Emma and Roger were fantastic hosts. They were very responsive and accommodating, and the lodge was amazing. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

A little hidden gem in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Situated on a quiet hill overlooking vineyards and just a few minutes from all the major attractions. The lodge is a great split level design separating the living area and sleep area. The fireplace is a wonderful room warmer in the cold winter nights. It was a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Relaxing stay. Very quiet & peaceful. Comfortable unit. If you are elderly recommend requesting a unit with level ground & no stairs.
Perfect to stay easily and to go out for wine tastings. Prost!
